As a locally owned father-and-son company, we combine decades of civil construction and infrastructure experience with a hands-on commitment to quality, efficiency and exceptional service.
We specialize in underground utilities installation, earthworks, road construction, foundations and more. We started NXTLVL to offer businesses and residents of the East Kootenays a quality product and a professional experience, start to finish. Father and son: Chris & Carter Mummery
Our experienced team brings decades of hands-on knowledge, hard work and dedication to every project.
Chris Mummery
Owner/Director
Chris brings more than three decades of civil construction and local government experience to NXTLVL. Before retiring from the City of Kimberley in 2022, he worked as a truck driver, equipment operator, utility operator, senior utility operator and utilities manager, and finally served as Senior Manager of Operations.
Over that time Chris worked on many infrastructure repair and replacement projects and led the City of Kimberley’s capital works program. He believes customers deserve quality and efficiency at the right price.
Carter Mummery
Owner/Director
Carter founded NXTLVL Consulting & Excavation Ltd. out of a focus on quality service and a passion for helping and giving back to the community. He started his career in civil construction and quickly became a key member of the team, thanks to his work ethic and drive to learn.
Carter has worked as a certified water operator and as lead hand/foreman for a utility crew. [CONFIRM: current certification name/level and years] That experience taught him infrastructure work across the community, including complex water and sewer repairs, and how to give customers a smooth, supported experience.

How NXTLVL got here
- Decades of groundworkChris Mummery spends more than 30 years with the City of Kimberley, from truck driver and equipment operator to Senior Manager of Operations.
- 2022Chris retires from the City of Kimberley.
- [CONFIRM: year founded]Carter and Chris launch NXTLVL Consulting & Excavation Ltd.
- 2023Water and sewer servicing for a Cranbrook duplex development, standpipe replacements, fire hydrant repair, building demolition and residential drainage work.
- 2024Union Road Watermain Looping for the District of Elkford, sanitary sewer trunk main repairs for the City of Kimberley and the Fairway Townhomes development in Kimberley.
